Music Meet-Up - August 10

Updated: Jan 30

We invite you to join us for an evening of music and community at Town Center Park (29230 SW Parkway Ct. Wilsonville, OR 97070) for one of the Wilsonville Rotary Summer Concerts. Contact Ray for more information or interest in going.

The opening act of the evening starts at 5:30pm: Singer/songwriter Bernie Sims spent his formative years in Salt Lake City and was surrounded by some amazing talents with whom to explore writing and performing music. That early opportunity led to a passion for songwriting and performing. The Beatles, Crosby, Stills & Nash and others were role models for both performing and writing strong melodies and three-part harmonies. His many influences include Kenny Loggins, Paul McCartney, Boz Scaggs, Billy Joel, Donald Fagen and Stephen Stills. These influences can be heard in Bernie’s songs, which speak to love and love-gone-awry, nature and man’s place in it, and the search for meaning in a world spinning too fast.

Then the headliner hits the stage at 6:30pm: Hit Machine is a band you and your friends will never forget. Created by Bart Hafeman, the energy projected from this seven-piece band is highly contagious, to say the least. The band plays hits from all eras, as it’s not uncommon to hear “Stayin’ Alive” (Bee Gees), “Kiss” (Prince), “Dynamite” (Taio Cruz), and “You Shook Me All Night Long” (AC/DC) all in the same set. The band has synchronized dance moves and many appropriate ways to involve everyone in the performance to make it an unforgettable evening.

The event website suggests you bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and enjoy the music, while the kids play in the nearby water feature, and recommends you bring dinner or purchase take-out (or delivery) from a local restaurant. See their Event Page for more information.
