ADULT EDUCATION & FELLOWSHIP

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. -Acts 2:42

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL

Our Adult Sunday School Program is a great way to get plugged into the life of MPC! The aim of this program is to grow into more faithful and mature disciples of Jesus. Throughout the program year (Sept-May), we offer various courses that are rooted in the Bible and relevant to the Christian life in today's complex world. â€‹

Starting October 1st:

An Introduction to Reformed Theology with Dr. Shannon Craigo-Snell, a five-week series from TheoAcademy. "At its most basic, theology is “talk about God.” But the ways Christians have and do talk about God can vary widely. Dr. Shannon Craigo-Snell helps us learn the way Presbyterians and other Reformed Christians approach it." Led by John and Kate England, the class will start with a thought-provoking question, followed by a video segment, then a discussion. These lessons work even if you cannot attend all five. Join us Sunday mornings at 9:00am in the chapel!

Starting October 10th:

Being Presbyterian: Foundations of Presbyterian Discipleship from TheoAcademy. "To be Presbyterian is to join a way of life informed by a particular rhythm: God calls us in grace and love; we respond in gratitude." We've used this class for our new members, but it's a great course for all of us to learn about Reformed Theology and how that informs our system of church government. This class will use scripture and our church Book of Order & Confessions. Heather Hellman will lead this class in the chapel on Tuesday mornings at 10:30am.

Stay tuned for more opportunities!

SMALL GROUPS

We believe that God calls us to be in relationship with others in order to grow in love, faith, and the knowledge of Scripture. A variety of daytime, evening, women’s, men’s, or mixed small groups meet at MPC. Please contact the church office for more information about joining such a group. A few examples of the various groups are:

  • Friday Men's Fellowship, 8:00AM on the 1st and 3rd Fridays in the Fellowship Hall: We meet for a light breakfast of beverages, cereals and pastries along with a time of general fellowship. If you have any questions or would like to join us, please email the church office.

  • Presbyterian Women, meet times TBD: A gathering for women of the church, which includes food, fellowship, and Bible study.

  • MPC Quilters, Mondays 1:00PM in Rooms 107-108: In addition to wonderful fellowship, this group is also a mission effort of MPC, as they have provided more than 2,500 quilts for CARES NW.

  • Prayer Team, Tuesdays 7:00PM on Zoom: Every Tuesday, a group of MPC members gathers to pray for our church family, our community, and our world. Anyone is welcome to join, and please notify the church office if you would like to share a prayer request with our Prayer Team.
